Overview
The Hotel, Restaurant, Travel & Tourism Academies are designed to serve as an introduction to the Hospitality industry. The Academy offers students opportunities to interact by taking leadership roles in designing and delivering service in areas of need. Because a longer-term goal of the Academy is to help fill the great need for hospitality professionals in the city, it is dedicated to preparing students academically for college and trade schools.

Students in this Academy have the opportunity to:
- Follow a 3-year academic curriculum that includes emphasis on careers in Hotels, Restaurants, Travel & Tourism.
- 10TH Grade Introduction to Hotel, Restaurant, Travel and Tourism
- 11th and 12th Grades Track One Culinary / Baking I and II and Serve Safe Certification
- Track Two Lodging Management Program I and II and Certification
- Mentoring and exposure to a wide variety of jobs in the hospitality industry.
- Certification for students and teachers by the American Hotel and Lodging Association
- Participation in Career Days, College / Industry tours, and internships.
- Participate in the Cultural Treasure Chest that introduces students to the economic impact that restaurants and the arts have on hotels, travel and tourism.
- Chef demonstrations, competitions, major projects, event planning and Hospitality Scholarships
- The Academy's Industry Advisory Board and other partners support the program by providing practice interviews, speakers, tours and internships for students and by working with Academies staff to develop curriculum.
